(More customer reviews)I had to purchase a dehydrator to fit a small counter space. My machine like others, with the exception of the Excalibur, has too big of holes in the trays that will not allow drying of small items as they will fall through. I purchased this item to fix this problem. The surface is non stick, the holes are a nice small size the really really really BIG problem is that it will not unroll and become flat. I have pressed it down with pans, warmed it to flatten it, and no matter what it will not lay flat. It keeps curling up!! Did they even test this product????? If you dry something that has some weight to it as soon as the water starts to leave the mat curls up and the food falls off, then you have to dig it all out of the machine along with this silly net that has rolled up! I finally sewed it to my trays with yarn!!!! This did work. I should have been paid for trying to use it for the designed purpose, oh wait, it was not properly designed for this purpose!! If I had room for an Excalibur I would have bought one because by the time you buy a less expensive machine and try to deal with something to hold the small food on the tray it starts adding up. And I did try cheesecloth, the food stuck pretty bad. If you don't mind sewing this to your trays than this is the product for you! If they would sell this in flat sheets it would be a really wonderful product. Maybe the Excalibur people could make a smaller size unit for smaller kitchen spaces.
